Helen Cassano was born in London, but grew up in Madrid. She studied Music at Royal Holloway, University of London, graduating in 2002. She then moved to Belgium, where she obtained Masters degrees in Singing, Chamber Music and Teaching, at the Brussels Royal Conservatoires. She has performed as a soloist in cantatas by J. S. Bach and Buxtehude, Handel's Messiah and Samson, Ravel's Trois Poèmes de Mallarmé, Monteverdi's Orfeo, Jomelli's Ifigenia, ...
Helen is often invited to perform with ensembles such as Arsys-Bourgogne, Euterpe Baroque Consort, Studium Chorale, Vox Luminis, Encantar, Ex Tempore, Octopus Solisten, Psallentes, the Choeur de l'Opéra de Wallonie, the Nederlandse Bach Vereniging, the Nederlands Kamerkoor and the Vlaams Radio Koor. Since 2003, Helen is a fixed member of the Chœur de Chambre de Namur, with whom she performs regularly as a soloist. She is currently studying Choral Conducting at the Lemmensinstituut in Leuven with Erik Van Nevel. She also teaches singing in the music academy of Oud-Heverlee and conducts the Brussels Chamber Choir.
